The second Regional Workshop of South East Europe will take place in Istanbul on 1 April 2016. The workshop (by invitation only) will welcome research funders from Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, FYROM, Serbia and Turkey. As this is a group of countries in the process of developing Open Access policies, the workshop will assist them in the formulation of Open Access policies aligned with Horizon 2020 and the European Commission 2012 recommendation through presentations and group work. 17 March 2016 | Copenhagen

The Key Nodes of the Nordic region will host a workshop in collaboration with NordForsk and the Nordic Council of Ministers in Copenhagen on the 17th of March 2016. The workshop is aimed at research funders and  the major universities and research preforming institutions from the Nordic countries.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide a forum for discussion of Open Access and Open Data policies, alignment and monitoring. It will also act as a meeting place for research funders and institutions.

The second regional workshop of the South West Region of Europe will take place in Turin on 22 February 2016. The main goal of the event is to bring together Research Institutions from the South West Region of Europe (which includes Spain, Portugal, Italy and Malta) allowing the exchange of ideas and policy practices among participants and discussion on the ways to improve existing policies or develop new Open Access policies aligned with the Commission’s Recommendation and the H2020 requirements.

The Regional Workshops (invitation only) for the North West region will take place in Brussels on 9 and 10 February 2016. The first one is for institutions and the second for funders and they will welcome policymakers from Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands and the UK.

EKT announces the workshop “Open Access Policies for Research Institutions” that will take place on the 3rd of November 2015 in Athens, Greece, in the context of the PASTEUR4OA project. 29-30 October 2015 | Budapest, Hungary

The Eastern European Meeting of Research Funders and Research Performing Organizations “Working Together to Promote Open Access Policy Alignment in Europe” took place on 29-30 October, 2015 in Budapest, Hungary. The meeting was organised by the PASTEUR4OA project and hosted by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.

The meeting brought together more than 50 representatives of research funding and research performing organizations from Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
