PASTEUR4OA and OpenAIRE are delighted to announce that PASTEUR4OA’s Knowledge Net activities to support the development and alignment of open access policies in Europe will continue as the Knowledge Net is integrated into the OpenAIRE infrastructure from September 2016. As the PASTEUR4OA project draws to a close, this will ensure the ongoing sustainability of its vital activities within one of Europe’s major Open Science e-infrastructures.

One of the main aims of the PASTEUR4OA Project was to establish, nurture and build a sustainable future for a network of expert organisations across Europe that could continue the project’s OA (Open Access) policy work after the end of the funding period. This network is called the Knowledge Net.
 
The Knowledge Net is composed of an expert organisation in each country that has the authority and expertise to engage with policymakers, provide them with information, share best practices and offer guidance and advice where appropriate. These Knowledge Net member read more...

Supported by the European Commission (EC) under its 7th Framework Program, PASTEUR4OA (Open Access Policy Alignment Strategies for European Union Research) project aims to help Member Nations develop policies to ensure open access to publicly funded research output.

The PASTEUR4OA project has produced a vast array of advocacy and dissemination materials aimed at supporting and assisting every aspect of establishing or updating an Open Access policy. It has among other things produced reports on policy efficiency, template documents and several case studies. The collection of institutional case studies produced by the PASTEUR4OA project aims to deliver different views on the implementation of institutional Open Access policies across Europe.

Institutions from the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Norway, and Portugal describe several aspects that have influenced the adoption of Open Access policies within their organisations – from the institutional context to the development and running of institutional repositories.
